SoftLock has been designed to place a software lock on any disk. This software lock is analogous to the sliding tab lock you can use on a floppy disk.
A password can be used to protect a locked disk, so that it can not be unlocked by the program, without entering the correct password.
Obviously, this is a dangerous thing to do. If you forget the password, the disk can be erased with either SoftLock, or Disk First Aid. Either of these applications will remove the software lock, and all the files on the disk.
Check the help menu in the application for further details. Help balloons are also provided.
